Christmas - not in December

"I don't celebrate Christmas until January, my girlfriend doesn't celebrate at all. We both know the significance of this holiday and wanted to give something as a gift. This time something valuable and precious: our time. Sensitised by the Time Bank, we spent the Christmas holidays in Gruft 2.

Our time at the homeless shelter was a clear wake-up call for us. We experienced so much humanity and learnt so much, we were able to actively contribute to the well-being of our fellow human beings and put smiles on other people's faces. We were fascinated by the staff on site: Especially the retired chef, who always endeavours to make the best of everything - his positive manner is so infectious. The cook's assistants, migrants themselves, show great commitment and friendliness and are greatly appreciated by everyone. The social workers are very competent, with a very open nature - you can literally see their social streak. A really great and lovely team!

We believe in karma and claim that the time you give to others is the time when you find peace of mind. Doing good and talking about it is important and not pretentious. We want to motivate our colleagues to bring joy and help others - which doesn't always have to mean donating money. Your time and an honest smile help immediately.

With our example, we also want to inspire others to volunteer - it's worth it!"
