Mission Chili: A Friday Full of Onion Tears and Heroic Deeds
Friday morning in the Caritas kitchen: Nine brave Erste Bank colleagues faced a special challenge. Under the guidance of Vera and her two assistants, a menu for 140 people came to life: vegetable soup, chili sin carne, and apple cake.
- The equipment? Cutting boards, knives, and big pots.
- The opponents? A mountain of vegetables and so many onions that we shed rivers of tears. No one was spared.
We chopped, stirred, and sizzled until the soup was steaming, the chili was bubbling, and the apple cake came out of the oven golden brown. Afterwards, we enjoyed a shared meal and lovely conversations.
And because after eating comes the washing up, we also cleaned up together.
A special round of applause goes to Christoph, the “Man of the Week”! He heroically tackled the gigantic pots and baking trays and made everything sparkle.
That’s how our mission ended: full, happy, and with a faint onion scent in our hair.
