Social day as part of the navigator training together with the Caritas House "Vindobona"
On 15 April, 14 adults and 14 children (asylum seekers from Afghanistan) from the Caritas House "Vindobona" set off for Schönbrunn Zoo in glorious sunshine and glorious temperatures (participants of the 1st Navigator course).
Equipped with bright white caps from S-Bausparkasse, no protégé could get lost. Initial language barriers were quickly overcome and communication with the girls, boys, women and men was a great enrichment. The animal world at Schönbrunn was very well received. The children were particularly enthusiastic about the animals. Fish, monkeys and giraffes were closely observed.
Our rest stop was at the playground near the polar bear enclosure. We were invited to eat some home-cooked food that we had brought with us. We thanked them with an ice cream, which was eaten with relish by everyone. We then continued our tour of the zoo until the early evening.
The excursion not only put a smile on the faces of our protégés, but also gave us the great feeling of having done something good.
The Navigators were:Farah Pfister, Bianca Pichler, Biljana Kovacic, Nikolaus Tschöp, Mario Mazzulini, Sabine Sommerbauer, Diana Minihold, Thomas Bognar, Marco Klimbacher, Clemens Kreimel, Martin Scheidtenberger, Sonja Settari and Wilfried Wetzel
