Social day for GGP participants (Group Graduate Program)
At Caritas Haus Damaris - a home for refugees - several projects were realised in cooperation with a number of refugees with experience in handicrafts.
- Colouring the playroom for the children (i.e. putting away/removing furniture, mucking out and cleaning the rooms)
- Construction of tables for the redesign of the recreation room
- Creative design of T-shirts together with the younger children in the house
The group of trainees from various Erste Group units worked with great enthusiasm to complete all the tasks in one day.
As a thank you, they were invited to a buffet with typical Syrian and Afghan specialities prepared by the residents of the house at lunchtime. After school, some of the children also took the opportunity to lend a hand.
Gudrun Köhne, Head of Corporate Volunteering at Caritas Vienna, was particularly impressed by the group's energetic commitment and said: "...such motivated groups are always welcome here."
